How to Care of Your Favorite T-Shirt to Make It Last Longer

Wash less

A 100 percent cotton T-shirt should only be washed when necessary for maximum endurance and durability. Even though excellent cotton is durable, each wash stresses the natural fibres, causing your T-shirt to age and fade more quickly. As a result, one of the most crucial strategies for extending the life of your favourite tee is to simply wash it less.

Wash with similar colours

White with white! Washing brighter colours together helps to keep your summer shirts white. By washing light colours together, you decrease the possibility of a white T-shirt becoming grey or even being coloured (think pink) by another item. Darker colours should usually be washed together, especially if they have already been washed a few times. If you’re not sure how to wash a new item, a glance at the care label is often helpful.

Wash with cold water

When washing t-shirts, cold water is always preferable to hot or warm water. Most times, there is no need to wash your t-shirts in hot water; cold water will be enough. Washing your white T-shirt in cold water offers a longer-lasting, crisp appearance and decreases the possibility of undesired colouration, such as yellowish stains beneath the armpits.

Wash (and dry) inside out

When you wash your T-shirts from the inside out, the inevitable abrasion occurs on the inside side of the garment, while the visible outside is unaffected. This lowers the possibility of fuzziness and pilling in natural cotton. T-shirts should also be dried inside out. This means that potential fading occurs on the inner side of the garment while the outer surface remains intact.

Avoid using bleach

Regular laundry detergent will suffice. This is enough to get your t-shirts clean and fresh. The use of bleach or powerful detergents, such as softeners, may cause damage to the printed designs on a t-shirt. Choose a gentler detergent to care for your printed t-shirts.

Reverse Iron
We recommend ironing your T-shirt on the reverse and using the steam feature on your iron. Cotton materials that have been moistened before ironing will have smoother fibres and will flatten more readily.

T-shirts should be stored appropriately.

T-shirts should ideally be stored folded and flat on a flat surface. Knitted fabrics may stretch if hanging for an extended period of time.

If you must hang your T-shirts, use broad hangers to spread the weight more evenly. When hanging T-shirts, make sure you enter the hanger from the bottom to avoid overstretching the neckline. Finally, avoid direct sunlight during storage to prevent colour fading.
