DESIGN INSPIRATION
This design is inspired by the symbol Sankofa. Originating from the Twi language in Ghana, which translates to “Go back and get it!” This expression combines the Akan second-person imperative sentence, “San kɔfa.”
The corresponding Akan proverb goes, “Se wo were fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri,” conveying that it is not considered taboo to revisit and retrieve something that has been forgotten. In a more literal sense, the proverb suggests there is no harm in returning to reclaim what was left behind.
